Okay everyone, I’m putting myself out there: Here are four current shoe trends I don’t like. Do you agree? Disagree? Have your own to add? Scroll to the bottom and add your comments!
- UGG BOOTS
What is it about Uggs? Why are they still so popular?
I was hoping it was some passing phase. But I see every other girl on campus wearing them, whether they’re dressed to the nines or in their pajamas.
To me, they’re just overpriced house slipper boots that really don’t add anything to an outfit.
I understand the value of comfort, but I have comfortable boots that are also chic and flattering to the leg.
- Crocs
Really, is it necessary for me to explain why I don’t like these? I mean, they can look kind of cute on babies’ feet, but that’s about it.
Crocs look like big, awkward, plastic house slippers with holes punched in them.
Now @georgegsmithjr did ask me to point out the new Croc collection, and it is much better than the originals: http://shop.crocs.com
It seems the Croc craze is coming to an end – the company reported a third-quarter loss of $158 million.
- Mules
There’s just something about the shape of mules that I don’t like, and I’m not sure exactly what it is. I find the mule especially unappetizing when it has a kitten heel – the shoe looks unbalanced.
When the weather is warm enough to wear a mule, I reach for my peep-toe pumps and sandals instead.
- Really pointy shoes
I don’t want to have the ability to stab someone with the point of my shoe, and I definitely don’t want to do so by accident! Imagine trying to play footsie with these killers on! That romantic moment wouldn’t last long.
I prefer rounded and square toes, and if they are pointy, I prefer a less-dramatic look.

Now you tell me – which of the current shoe trends do you despise? Did I step on anyone’s toes? Let’s start
a discussion!
