We all know stilettos are a girl’s best friend because they make us feel sexy and in control. They lean out the legs and make the entire body look leaner. However, as the fashion industry continues to push the envelope of heel height, many women are finding it more and more difficult to put up with the aches and pains that result from just a few hours of wear.
So imagine my excitement when I learned that there is a doctor and fitness specialist who has created workout routines for ladies who wear stilettos regularly! Dr. Emily Splichal aka “Dr Legs,” creator and lead instructor of the fitness series Catwalk Confidence, combines her passion and expertise in fitness and podiatric medicine to provide the technique and tips to help stiletto lovers build or re-gain the posture, strength, balance and confidence to walk the runway comfortably, everyday.
Watch her recent TV appearances on CW11 and on The Today Show to learn more about how to walk properly in high heels.
“Dr. Legs” is a graduate of New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City and certified fitness specialist at Crunch Fitness and NY Sports Club, where she teaches Catwalk Confidence classes. In addition to her involvement in fitness and podiatric medicine, Emily is also an accomplished professional gymnast with over 13 years of experience.
The goal of Catwalk Confidence is to reconcile the love/hate relationship that women often have with their high heel shoes by giving women a healthy way to better accommodate heels through a routine that combines fitness with podiatric therapy.
Catwalk Confidence: The Workout is a challenging workout that walks users through a 60min workout that utilizes balance and stabilization exercises to target strength, balance, and confidence needed to walk in high heels. Regular use of Catwalk Confidence: The Workout will increase women’s postural strength, balance and endurance to walk confidently in their sexiest stilettos.
Catwalk Confidence: Stiletto Recovery provides a combination of therapeutic movements and fitness techniques that soothe and relax overworked muscles from hours in stiletto wear. Regular use of “Catwalk Confidence: Stiletto Recovery” will realign the body and alleviate foot discomfort allowing women to continue walking pain-free in their stilettos.
