I’ve got toenail polish colors on the brain. Maybe it’s because it’s summer, which is the perfect time to experiment with bright, bold colors. Or maybe it’s because my birthday is coming up, and I want to pick the perfect shade for my barbeque/pool party. I’ve been reflecting on the colors I’ve chosen in the past, and it got me to thinking, why do we choose the colors we do? I see some women who can rock purple and blue nail polish, and then I see women who look pretty in pink and neutrals. The color of your nail polish may depend on the season but different people favor different colors in general. With all the colors we have to choose from, the possibilities are endless. So, what does your toenail color choice say about you?
Pinks:
If you like all things pink then you are what is affectionately called a girly-girl. You love to flaunt your femininity and you are a very friendly person. Pink is fun but can also be subtle and classy in muted tones. Pink lovers like to have fun but prefer to follow rather than lead. You might also be somewhat reserved, as pink nail polish is considered a conventional color in the workplace.
Reds:
Red nail polish is sexy, aggressive, intense, and untamed. It is an indication of someone who enjoys holding positions of power and likes attention. If you wear red polish, you have a passion for life and are full of energy and outspoken. You often play the leader role when seeking friendship or love.
Blues:
If you tend to paint your toes blue, you have an inner tranquility and mystery that attracts people to you. Your friends know they can count on you because you are reliable, stable and loyal. You seek out solidity and security, which allows you to maintain a peaceful disposition. Studies show that people are more productive when working in a room that is painted blue…so maybe blue nails will bring you more productivity, too?
Purples:
If you like purples, you are extravagant, sophisticated, mysterious, and wise. You like to buy nice things and keep up appearances. After all, money is meant to be spent, right? You mesmerize those around you because you are knowledgeable but also unpredictable and exciting.
Yellows, Oranges and Greens:
Painting your nails in bright colors? Then you are definitely not afraid of what other people think. You enjoy life and like to try new things. Full of energy, you are the life of the party and always on the go with all of your friends. Try to avoid the cat fights though, because your in-your-face attitude may not always please those around you!
Browns and Nudes:
Women who paint their nails brown like to just go with the flow in most situations. You don’t need a lot to make you happy because you search for happiness within yourself. You turn to nature for repose and you believe in enhancing your natural beauty.
Black:
Black nail polish is powerful, dominating, non-conforming, sexy, and mysterious. You follow your own path and are confident in who you are. Your beliefs drive your every move, and you exude power over others while mystifying them at the same time. You are more than comfortable with your sexuality.
Who knew that the color of the polish on your toes could say so much! If you would like to adopt some of the qualities you may lack, try colors you do not typically wear. Color affects your mood, so try something new! I am generally a French pedicure kind of girl, but this summer I’ve been opting for bright, cheery colors. Maybe I’ll try purple or black this fall!
