As we step into the Fall season, the fashion world is abuzz with energy in the wake of New York Fashion Week, during which the hottest looks for Spring 2012 were showcased. Aside from the overall neon-infused sportif-chic movement, we also get to look forward to graphic floral prints, colorblocking, asymmetrical and mullet hemlines, crop tops and styles inspired by the 60s and 70s. Here are my top picks for the best runway looks for Spring. I know it’s a bit early, but what are you looking forward to wearing next season?
Nanette Lepore Spring 2012

Nanette Lepore had the brightest show of the season, featuring the designer’s signature looks rendered in citron, tangerine and pink hues. One look I’m excited to try for myself – pastel layered with neon. What made this collection my absolute favorite was the runway shoes, which featured fluorescent yellow, a playful spoof of classic red-bottom Louboutins.

Jason Wu Spring 2012

Can I just say how glad I am that brights are still going strong come next spring season?! Jason Wu‘s beautifully bold gown is perfectly suited for The First Lady…oh how I wish yellow was my color. But I would gladly wear any one of his wispy, pleated cotton-candy skirts.
Naeem Khan Spring 2012
“Colorful. Racy. Glamour.” My friend, The Fashionisette covered Naeem Khan’s runway show and I am smitten with this hot pink floor-skimming organza skirt. Khan has been one of my favorite Fashion Week shows over the past few seasons, so I will definitely be keeping an eye on this designer.
Milly
Michelle Smith schooled me in geometry with her lighthearted art deco graphics. The colors (and that adorable retro neck scarf) sealed this look as one of my faves.
Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2012
I love, love, love this dress, even though it is canary yellow. Diane von Furstenberg‘s collection featured her signature prints which ranged from 60′s inspired florals to bolder retro looks. “Pairing the collection with delicate ankle strap sandals added a feminine, lady-like touch,” she said.
