Right now I’m actually wishing it would rain. Why? Because I’m anxious to get more wear out of my adorable new Ahnu waterproof boots! This is the ultimate city boot for tackling wet weather. The gorgeous patent leather keeps my feet dry, and the chic styling and slimmer shape dress up any look.
I received a pair of the Laguna in winetasting (great name for a color) for review. Purple is one of my favorite colors when it comes to boots – I also have a pair of Frye leather boots and rubber galoshes – so I was more than happy to try them out! Here is what I think of the Ahnu Laguna boot.
I noted the quality construction and unique styling from the moment I took the Laguna boots out of the box. The horn-shaped toggles decorate the shaft, and the lace up functionality and side zip ensures a perfect fit every time. Plus I love that these rain boots don’t feel or look at all like generic rubber galoshes meant for slushing through waist-high muck. These boots have style!
In terms of performance, this mid-calf boot is designed with what Ahnu calls their “Numentum Technology”, an activity-specific neutral positioning system that keeps your heel centered and promotes good balance. When I wore the Laguna boots my feet felt warm, dry and perfectly protected.
My Ahnu Laguna boots were comfortable enough to wear all day long from the first time I slipped them on. Plus, they look fantastic with a dress and tights or over skinny denim. If you ask me, every fashionable femme needs a pair of Ahnu rain boots in her closet! That way, never again shall a sartorial sacrifice be made, come rain or shine.
The Laguna boot is available in black, golden brown and winetasting for $160 at Ahnu.com.
Founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2007, Ahnu aims to inspire a life full of outside activity and pleasure, be it running on your favorite path or strolling through your local park. Founders Jenny Fredericks and Jacqueline Van Dine are friends, mothers, athletes and industry veterans who share a work hard/play hard philosophy. Joined by Jim Van Dine, the three founders combined their passions by engineering performance shoes with modern organic aesthetics, on-trend designs and sleek, vibrant colors. By making “outdoor” more accessible, just as fun and a little less “agro,” they hope to inspire life of nature sufficiency.
With careful and intentional choices, they found a balance between fitness and fashion, performance and aesthetics, profit and philanthropy, and work and play. It was only fitting that they named their company after the Celtic goddess of balance between well being and prosperity.
